Alterations to Kitchen

A Brief History

The east window B19a/w2 remains intact from the original construction.

By 1819 Window B19a/w1 altered to accommodate door to new Servants Entrance passage set beneath its upper lights retained as high level window over new external porch. Store B19c indicated in use off south wall. Door 19a/d4 to Still Room Stair introduced small range at north end of original opening with bread oven to south

By 1909 Store B19c no longer in use

1909 Dunn and Watson proposed that window B19a/w1 should be rebuilt to correspond with the north window, in conjunction with the demolition of the external passage, but in the event, part of the passage was retained as a back porch B19b) and the doorway was retained.
